My favorite things GIVEAWAY! Camping

I love camping, in a tent. I love not being able to sleep the first night because of all the new noises. I love waking up early before the tent heats up from the sun, and I love crashing the second night from all the fresh air! While I love camping in the backyard or at the local campsite, there is NOTHING more spectacular than camping at a National Park. My husband and I spent our honeymoon camping in different National Parks in the west. And we'd done many other road/National Park camping trips prior.
With kids it has gotten a little trickier. They are young and I get nightmares just thinking about some of the hikes I did before I had kids. (Really, I just leaned over that cliff 4500ft. above the ground??!!) My knees are buckling already!
In honor of my love for camping and National Parks (need any good recommendations, talk to me- I kept vivid journals throughout all our travels!) I am giving away a National Parks Annual Pass! An $80 value!

  • Valid for one full year from month of purchase.
  • Provides entrance or access to pass holder and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle at Federally operated recreation sites across the country.
  • Covers the pass holder and three (3) accompanying adults age 16 and older at sites where per person entrance fees are charged. No entry fee for children 15 and under.
  • Photo identification may be required to verify ownership.
  • Passes are NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE, and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
  • Fees vary widely across the thousands of Federal Recreation sites. Please contact specific sites directly for information on what is or is not covered
To enter: Leave a comment about your FAVORITE place to go camping!!
You have till Thursday June 25 at 11:59pm (cst) to leave a comment.
The winner will be chosen via random number generator the next day and notified by email. I'll also post the winner on my blog. If I don't hear back from the winner within 48 hours, I'll pick another. Good luck!

My family owns 32 acres and so far that is the only place I have ever camped. I love doing it though. My husband and I said when my son was a baby (he's 3 now) that we would have to start camping at different places so they can enjoy nature. My two girls are 11 and 7. We have so much fun no matter where we are. My husband and I would love the opportunity to take our 3 kids out to experience this. Thanks so much.

We live close to Lake Lanier and there are a dozen great campgrounds right around the lake.

We are close to the Smoky Mts Nat'l Park, an absolutely awesome park and great place to camp and explore. You could spend the rest of your life in that one park.

Thanks for having the giveaway!

I love Glacier National Park. And I'd love to take my kids to see the Glacier before it is gone.

I have not been camping in so many years, I don't remember my favorite place to go! But my husband talks all the time about how much he loved Yosemite and wants to take us all there. I'd love to go and take our young sons.

We haven't camped in a long time. My favorite was when we camped across the US on a trip to CA.

Backyard camping is always fun.

My favorite place to camp (and hike) is Glacier National Park. I spent two summers in college there, working at a kids camp and loved it.

I am sad to say that I don't have enough experience to have a true favorite. But we do love to camp in the White Mountain area of Arizona.
But my husband grew up in Utah (and in the Boy Scouts) so I have high hopes of visiting some glorious Utah National Parks. And Colorado...and New Mexico...and Wyoming.

With 3 kinds under 5, we haven't been really camping in a while. But we love going to Jacobsburg State Park by us - lots of wide trails, a creek to play in and lots of shade - the kids never want to leave! :)

My new favorite place is Shenandoah National Park near Skyline Drive. There are so many amazing campsites with gorgeous waterfalls...lots of amazing wildlife (deer, ravens, black bear). We'd love to return to the great outdoors in Shenandoah again soon!

What a fantastic giveaway! I would love to hear your recommendations for National Parks. Please write a post or two or seven.... :)

We have mainly camped at state parks. Our fave is in Michigan. There is a park right on Lake Michigan but also on a river and smaller lake. It's a great combination with the wildlife and fauna of the three different locales. It's just beautiful.

Thanks so much for a generous prize!

I'm afraid to say it, but I've never been camping. My husband wants to go and now that our son is older (he's 6), I know we should. There are so many places I want my son to see. We had to cancel our beach camping trip because the campgrounds filled up so fast we missed it. This would be great!

Ooh, aah! I live in Florida and have camped all over the state. There are a lot of great places to camp here, but I've had some pretty magical camping moments at Bahia Honda State Park (your photo above reminds of there). If you're looking for national lands, my husband and I had a rather adventurous time primitive camping on an island in Canaveral National Seashore.

Cool giveaway!
